I know. That sounds ridiculous. But it will be so easy to find, I promise!
A little sneak peek…!
Yes, for the first time in three years, I have gathered enough space and time to create a few new paintings. They are all acrylic (there is on watercolor there, but it is from the old show… It just felt right to include it), and include dahlias, roses, and a couple of ocean-scapes (is that a word? It’s not a landscape, but the ocean, so… It makes sense in my brain!)
The show is at Emerald Art Center, in Springfield, Oregon, if you happen to feel like taking a gander. My one-wall show is on the “Brockett Wall” in the back, across from the restrooms. Anything that does not sell in the gallery will end up on this site for sale. As long as I can figure out how to update my pictures to scramble for AI so it doesn't steal my work… That might be a January 2027 event, adding a store to the site, so … coming soon!
Life has been a bit of a journey this year. I lost my dear studio & life buddy Emma in May. She is now buried in the garden near a place where birds nest and always had her attention. I hope she is enjoying the good life observing all her favorite things to watch.
It took me some time to be able to go back in the space and pick up a brush. (Also - there were fleas trying to eat me. Ugh. That was another experience, altogether. They’re gone, now!) I’ve reorganized (multiple times), and the creativity is creeping back into my mind. Thank goodness!
We recently found ourselves the proud owners of two small dogs, Pete & Tex. These two were Doug’s parents, but it’s come time for them to move to another place, and the dogs came to us. They are both somewhere between 8-9 years old, and are pretty easy. They do love to bark at… well, most anything that moves, but that’s ok. They’re not always looking out the window… Just most of the time. Ha!
Fortunately, they’re really sweet, and Tex sits where Emma used to, just the same with his head on the window sill. They make Doug extremely happy, and I’m finding them to be enjoyable companions.
We’re almost to the end of the year, and I have made promises to two very special girls in my life to make them custom vests (yes, I do also sew for fun), and plan to make myself an 1830’s historic dress for a trip to Natchez, Mississippi coming up in December. The hobby-work continues! Hopefully all of these things will be done by … well, Christmas Eve. I plan to deliver those vests before the end of the year, and that seems as good a time as any!
I hope you are all well, and if you are around and plan to see the art show, please let me know, I’d love to see you! I will be at the gallery during the Art Walk next Friday, so if you are out for the evening walk, I’ll see you then!
